Just One Day – a pledge EVERY shelter and rescue should take!

On June 11, 2012, organizations across the United States will participate in Just One Day – a national day of No Kill, where shelters and rescues will pledge to not kill any savable animals for 24 hours.

I thought this was a great idea when I heard about it, but I wasn’t sure if there was anything I could do – after all, the rescues I work with are already No Kill. But there is!

There are two pledges: one for traditional animal control/sheltering organizations, one for No Kill shelters and rescues. The No Kill organizations can help the effort by pledging to help their local shelter meet the No Kill pledge. This is something we can all surely agree on – who wouldn’t want to be a part of it? No matter what kind of organization you work with, work for or volunteer for, on June 11 2012 we should all come together to be a No Kill Nation. Please talk to your local shelter about joining the pledge!
